Wine and Chocolates-Now who’s crazy
When Image of Wine started promoting chocolates paired with wine we invoked the name of Jerry Comfort of Beringer Wines and a few others. Nonetheless we received askance looks of disbelief that this was a market, even leading up to the holidays. A friend of mine at Rodney Strong Vineyards just brought to our attention that Rodney Strong, in Sonoma County, is holding their 2011 “Wine and Chocolate Fantasy” in Feburary for the 22nd time.
Dry Creek Vineyards has also done some wine and chocolate pairing in past during the “Dry Creek Wine Passport”. (Dry Creek as in the appellation.) You are really missing something if you don’t try chocolate wrapped in a crepe and a Merlot.
