When a Veil is not part of a wedding…
A few months ago I was at a gift show in San Francisco. By shear accident I met a lady who was marketing a new product called a “Wine Veil”–not a product for a bride getting married in Wine Country. But, a simply ingenious idea for wine lovers who entertain outdoors when pesky flying vermin are plentiful. Gnats and other insects seem to be drawn to glasses of wine or drips of wine that come down the necks of wine bottles after a pour:these nuisances are annoying when you and your guests are digging buys out of a nice glass of wine.
The solution to this problem is a set of colorful sheer fabrics called the “Wine Veil”, with charm weights attached at each corner, that can be gracefully draped over glasses of wine, wine bottles or decanters of wine-between sips.
There is nothing in it for me to tell you about this product, believe me. My wife thinks this is a cool idea because she finds it ungraceful and disgusting to fish for “swimmers” (as she calls bugs in a glass of wine) when eating out on our patio during the warmer weather days. So, I am just passing along a nice new product idea, and they aren’t expensive. I think they sell for about $25. You can see them at www.wineveil.com.
Best to all, IOW.
